THE 3rd ANNUAL SUNNYSIDE SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL will be held
on SEPT 12th, 2009 beginning at 7:30 pm
At the Sunnyside Gardens Park (weather permitting, see below!)
UPDATE:
LOCATION CHANGE FOR 2009: WE'RE TAKING IT OUTSIDE!!
The Sunnyside Gardens Park has graciously offered the use of their private park to use
for our September 12th film festival again this year. For those of you who attended two years ago you will recall
the magical night we had under the stars while watching 17 wonderful short films. So bring your blankets and friends,
enjoy the refreshments, sit back and, IF WEATHER PERMITS*, we'll do it again. (Some seating will be provided by the Park for
senior citizens and the handicapped.)
*The festival will be moved inside to the Sunnyside Community Center (last year's venue) in
case of rain, or if the temperature drops below 65 degrees. It will be the same night, and the same time.
REFRESHMENTS will be available for purchase - to help out The Sunnyside Gardens
Park.
See our "Directions" link on the
right for both the addresses and directions for both venues.
UPDATE ON OUR FUNDRAISER HELD MARCH 30 AT CLARET WINE BAR!
Our fundraiser not only helped us financially but attendees had a blast as well.
According to feedback we received, it was a great networking opportunity for filmmakers, producers, directors, everyone!
The generous raffles from local restaurants and vendors, plus the movie quote game were a great hit.
We had so much fun that we're thinking of doing it again in the summer! So, stay
tuned.
By the way, if you were unable to attend and you
want to support us with a donation, please click on the "Donations" page.
We will need much public support, as we have just found out that the city will unable to help us
out this year. Your donations will be more important than never!
Thank you!
About last year's event: On September 6th, 2008, with the beginnings of Hurricane Hannah
raining down on us, approximately 250 brave and hearty souls came to the Sunnyside Community Center to enjoy the
2nd Annual Sunnyside Shorts Film Festival. A grand time was had by all.
15 short independent films
and traditional live Irish music made the evening a very special night for the filmmakers, musicians and audience members
alike.
You can now view the photos of the 2008 festival, film submission info and donation
information by clicking on the appropriate tabs on the left.
Thanks to you all!
